Hi,

I have installed Openaudit Version 10.09.01 on Fedora Linux system. However, am unable to run the audit.vbs script on a

Windows client. All of the Windows clients are in a Workgroup using the 192.168.x.x series.

The audit.vbs script that came as part of the tar.gz package throws up the following error

audit.vbs <168, 1> msxm13.dll: The system cannot locate the resource specified.

The line number 168 has a parameter as http.send ""

I entered the host address as http.send "192.168.1.141" and yet no result.

I also tried to run the command in Windows cmd prompt "regsvr32 msm13.dll" which gave the error as
"Failed to load, make sure the binary is stored at specified path or debug. Specified module could not be found.

Then I downloaded another script as mentioned at this location

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5864

This does something but when I go back to main panel of Openaudit there is NO listing of this audited Windows system.

Apart from this when I executed the audit_linux.sh file in the Linux terminal it showed the following message

scripts]# ./audit_linux.sh
hwinfo not found! Some information will be missing (such as Monitor information).
lshw not found! Some information will be missing (such as detailed network adapter information).
\nYou need to specify a default SSH user when doing remote Linux audits

Please can somebody throw light on how to get this running. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The current version of Open-AudIT is beta 9.2, available here.
That contains the latest windows audit script.
There is a linux audit script in the works.

Hi,

Thanks much for the reply. However, the link doesn't seem to work as it never let me download the Beta 9.2 XAMPP for windows ZIP (101.1 MB). In all my instances of downloads for this file I have downloaded 70, 93, 20, 8 MB...but never the complete file.
Also, can I install the 101.1 MB file (for Windows zip) on Linux system? or do I need to install the XAMPP first on Windows and then the zip file?

TIA

SH

No - it is a portable XAMPP packaged for Windows. I have included Open-AudIT, set up and ready to go. Download it, Extract it to c:\, run xampp-control.exe (I think that's the .exe name), log in to http://localhost/, done.
If you wish to install to a Linux based machine, there are some basic instructions in OAv2/install_ubuntu.txt. I plan to create more thorough documentation for RedHat and include it as well.

The website is hosted at GoDaddy and the bandwidth of the server is shared amongst other users of the server. This may be a cause of slow download speed and even drop outs. I may investigate moving to a better host now that we have corporate backing :D
