I'd love to see an extra layer to this setup, where you have multiple sites and there's a separate database for each. I currently don't want every single one of my networks to be shown in the same place, I need to have them organized, and I think that this would be the best way to do it :D

Ex: Site Nav

New Site
Current Sites
Admin

and shows a list of the current sites by default. Now, when you click on a current site, it links up with the database associated and then acts as normal.

Sound like just multiple installations and page with links to different sites. :)

As noted by Mark, next step is multiple sites in same database with access levels, etc

I must have missed out on that one :P But, yea, I had a feeling it'd be that way. I guess I'll just make an admin page that will generate that then :P Just hotcopy the original to another folder and setup rewrites to match it.

Yeah - OAv2 will do exactly this.

I also have a use-case (in my head) for externally hosted use.
It will use multiple databases, but only a single website.
Based on the URL, you will use a particular Database.
For example - http://someprovider.open-audit.com - would use the someprovider database.
It should scale nicely and keep complete data seperation.

Not quite what you want, but your part is already taken care of by the base app (OAv2).

Cool deal, I'm implementing something to take care of that for OAv1 right now, I'll post it when it's finished. (It is basically a front-end for the website creation, basically multiple sites, with the same php files (except the includes). This mostly handled by apache's rewrites.
