Hi,

I beleive this would be a good feature to add. Displaying the system(s) uptime. I get asked this by management a lot.

Could be incl. in system pages as well having a special "Statistic" about this? Maybe only for servers?

Lemme know what you think.

Jason

Well I like the idea, but the problem with up-time, is that it changes in real time. We can grab the up-time at the time of the most recent audit.... but obviously this will always be incorrect, as time will have passed between then, and now, and the box may even have been re-booted in the interim.

or, we could code a link on the system pages to throw back a vbs script to the browser to find the current uptime of the box being viewed.

See here for an example http://www.microsoft.com/technet/script ... y0802.mspx
(Note: read the comments on the page, this method only works for 2003 and XP, anything older (W2K) or non windows (Linux) wouldn't be covered by this script.)

Which would you see as being most useful?

If interesting, the audit.vbs script already retrieves the last boot time for a system (date-time, the uptime is not calculated), as showed in the OS Settings - OS section of system.php and it should be OK for W2k boxes too.

Good thinking, this would be as valid a start point as anything else, since we have the limitations I mentioned above.
If your report simply needs the time between last boot and now, should be fairly easy.
