We have a lot of wasted white space below the left hand and right hand menus. Why don't we put some context sensitive (read page related) tips in this panel, with a show tips button below the search box.

Shouldn't be too hard, just need a toggle .....and some ideas :P .

The tips can either live in the database, or better still in an editable (XML?) file. Key would be the URI
So for example if you go in to the setup page, you can be prompted with expert help in the right hand pane, to ease your journey.

Think of it as an integrated WIKI ( Mark doesn't like Wikis, so that should get a reaction!)

Wiki's - I HATE wiki's !!!
ha ha.
Not a bad idea though. The context of the displayed info changes depending on the current page - nice.
Would suggest to keep it out of the DB.
That way, people can add their own stuff, if they like, and we don't need to worry about PHP pages to CRUD the contents...

OK a little progress (debatable perhaps). I took a look through the RH menu code, modified it slightly, added a few comments.
Give me some feedback on the look of this, because I am going to try to sneak in the tips box somewhere. I shrank the version number and added a link to the license.
I even toyed with the idea of changing Mark's name to a "Credits" link, to give more info on the writing of OA and what a great guy Mark is..

I just updated from SVN and on the right column I can see this php notice:
Notice: Undefined variable: show_tips in ...\include_right_column.php on line 101
What about adding to the index.php page a
$show_tips = 'n';
until a show_tips.php page is coded and a $show_tips option is added to include_config.php ?

Put it in include_config_defaults.php - this is what that file is for.

Thank you, I noticed only now that you added to include.php its include_once instruction.
Andrew, what about adding it to SVN or are you coding something new?
