I tried to do this myself, but i'm no graphic artist (bullshit artist, maybe)....
What about the Open-AudIT logo rotating around (like in a circle)...
It's a bit difficult, because it's not actually round.

Anyone care to try ?
You can grab the .svg from http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Desktop_Project

Mark, I tried this at first and couldn't quite get it to look right (the logo appeared to "wobble" as it rotated). I might give it another go when I get some time - I think I just need to ensure that the image is centered correctly fist before rotating it.

Cheers, Nick.

Strangely enough that was my first thought, but I then moved on to the spinny globe version... but it reminded me too much of Internet Explorer. As a result, I started to feel quite unwell :twisted: so i abandoned that idea too.

Here's my attempt with the Open Audit logo:
hourglass-busy.gif
hourglass-busy.gif [ 12.36 KiB | Viewed 6269 times ]

Looks fine (to me) full size, but not so good when scaled down - it becomes a bit indistinct (because it has too much detail?)

Cheers, Nick.

First of all - GREAT CODE!!!- second I think Nick can be moved up from newbie status now and - third I have a problem with the home page update and could use some help. Basically my graph is not working. I have 2 days worth of Audits and I was hoping to see some change in the graph today and I don't.

Off of a hunch I decided to try using IE instead of firefox - I was able to see a place holder for the graph and on hovering the mouse over the place holder for yesturday it show a number of items audited but the pictures for the graph are missing.

Any tips?

your work is Much appreciated.

Thank you

Actually I had sent a PM to Nick as well on this and I think he has found my problem- it relates to my php set up and the gd library. He gave me this link to reference. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1027 I will check this out and if I continue to have problems I will let you know.

Thanks again

ad_audit_script.php looks promising, but even after adding alle required fields in the database, i cannot query anything.
Is there a way to turn on debugging?

NIck (or anybody else), is it expected that the audited systems count on the bar graph for each day is simply increased starting from the existing value for the same day? I.e. if I audit 100 alive systems 3 times per day, now the count is "300 systems" after the third audit. To be really useful, I think it should be 100 instead.

Baldcat,

Try the replacing all the code in HttpRequestor.js with this (backup first!).

Cheers, Nick.
/***************************************************************************
HttpRequestor object constructor
/***************************************************************************/
function HttpRequestor(ID, Async)
{
// Class variables
this.ElementID = ID;
this.XmlHttpObject = undefined;
if (typeof Async == 'undefined') Async = 0;
this.Async = Async;

// Send HTTP request
this.send = function(sURL)
{
this.XmlHttpObject = GetXmlHttpObject();
var _this = this;
this.XmlHttpObject.onreadystatechange = function(){_this.receive()};
this.XmlHttpObject.open("GET",sURL,true);
this.XmlHttpObject.send(null);
}

// receive HTTP Request response
this.receive = function()
{
if (this.Async == 1)
{
document.getElementById(this.ElementID).innerHTML = this.XmlHttpObject.responseText;
return;
}
if (this.XmlHttpObject.readyState == 4 || this.XmlHttpObject.readyState == "complete")
{
document.getElementById(this.ElementID).innerHTML = this.XmlHttpObject.responseText;
}
}
}

/***************************************************************************
Create XMLHttprequest object - browser specific
/***************************************************************************/
GetXmlHttpObject=function()
{
if (window.XMLHttpRequest) return new XMLHttpRequest();
else if (window.ActiveXObject)
{
var progids = ["MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP","Msxml2.XMLHTTP.5.0", "Msxml2.XMLHTTP.4.0", "MSXML2.XMLHTTP.3.0", "MSXML2.XMLHTTP", "Microsoft.XMLHTTP"];
var obj;
for(var i = 0; i < progids.length; i++)
{
try
{
obj = new ActiveXObject(progids[i]);
return obj;
}
catch (e){}
}
}
}
