Open-audit is great stuff... Good job!

I am working on incorporating open-audit into an initiative at my
company. I have used it many years ago for a similar project with
great success.

Because of my comfort with it, I am planning to use open-audit
v1 indefinitely. I don't consider this a bad thing since it is
very functional and meets all our needs.

As with other any mature development project, open-audit has it's
share of warts, bugs & dirty code. I have been addressing some
of the more important ones (to me) locally. When bored, I have fed
a couple of the findings back to the forums.

I would like to get more involved in hopes that the existing project
might benefit in some small way from my changes. With OAv2
development in full swing, and looking at the revision history, it
doesn't look like any significant work is being done to open-audit.

What are the future plans for open-audit? Will it continue to be
supported? I would love to see it continue as a separate project
to OAv2.

Regards,
Steve

What would be needed for you to use OAv2 ? OAv2 code is much neater and easier to work with.

With your track record of contributions, I don't see why we can't get you commit access to the SVN at SourceForge.

Personally, I don't have enough time to do both. I don't (really) have enough time even for OAv2. so that makes me choose - and for now i am choosing OAv2 as the way forward and my time-sink :D

There is no reason for the Open-AudIT forums to close or for people to stop committing code though. Personally, I think of it as "depreciated". Not completely unsupported, but not the focus of my attention.

It would be nice to keep supporting new releases of version 1 (even if it is just bug fixes) until a stable version (feature complete and non-alpha/beta) of version 2 is out.
