Post subject:  Auditing with nmap.vbs versus audit.vbs

I'm successfully experiencing OA (v.8.07.23)
I've started to audit windows machines on my AD with audit.vbs and I've populated my inventory database.
Because on my network are also OS-X machine and UNIX machines (Linux and Solaris). I'm experiencing nmap.vbs script file. It seems that nmap.vbs scans all ip on the network making the audit of alive ip.
If so, nmap.vbs can be used to audit Windows and not-Windows machines. Is it so ?
Otherwise, when must audit.vbs be used and when nmap.vbs ?
Many thank to your reply.

Nmap will find everything on your network which is switched on, and has a valid IP in the subnet being scanned.
It will not provide full details of Windows machines, that is the job of audit.vbs
There is a separate similar script to audit Linux machines.

Hope this helps.
