Hi,

When i try to run NMAP.vbs i get the attached errors
[attachment=0] windowsscripthost.JPG
windowsscripthost.JPG [ 6.02 KiB | Viewed 7103 times ]

[attachment=1] systemerror.JPG
systemerror.JPG [ 11.74 KiB | Viewed 7100 times ]

My main question i guess is how do i configure NMAP to scan my network.

Thanks

First off this should be moved to Support forum.

But on to your problem. Couple questions before we dig in.

1. Are you using the latest SVN? There were quite a bit of changes to nmap audit over the last couple weeks. my understanding is that is no longer requires temp.txt which your first jpg is pointing to.

The latest nmap changes writes the temp file to system variable %temp% folder rather that the openaudit scripts directory.

Please update to latest SVN by following the directions in the FAQ forum, then try again.

One nmap restriction that I learnt about.

NMAP does not cross routers, therefore for all subnets separated by routers you will need a host on the "inside" to be able to audit that particular subnet.

Take care

Jason

I've installed using the last version from SVN (yesterday). I'm having a very similar issue to the first thing adavis asks about here, referring to windowsscripthost.JPG. This reads different with the timestamp and such and the file is being created in the user's temp directory as mentioned in the reply. However the box comes up every single time it moves on to scan an IP. How would I go about getting that box to not appear or what might I have done wrong?

Make sure you have the path to the NMap install in your system path.
You should be able to run nmap.exe from any directory, and it should be OK.
When you run nmap.vbs, run it from the command line with cscript, ie -
cscript nmap.vbs
This will output to the command window, and you won't have to click OK all the time.

Run the script with CSCRIPT as stated by Mark in the previous post.

C:> CSCRIPT NMAP.VBS
