I'm trying to install and setup OAv2 9,2 beta and so far have had no luck getting the audit script to run on Windows.

On XP I get the following output;
$ cscript.exe audit_windows.vbs

starting audit - .
Not pinging target, attempting to audit.

Did you update the url variable at line 27 in the audit_windows.vbs script? It should point to your OpenAudit server instance. By default it's a localhost URL which is not valid if you're running the audit from a different machine than your web host. If you browse to the URL value you should get the Add a System submit box.

Thanks that did the trick. I had been assigning the url environment variable (which I saw someone suggest in a post in this forum), but I guess that doesn't work.

So now all my XP boxes work fine.

However all my Windows 7 boxes give me
C:\Utils\Open-AudIT>cscript audit_windows.vbs
cscript audit_windows.vbs
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.8
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Utils\Open-AudIT\audit_windows.vbs(178, 1) (null): The specified module could not be found.
That's interesting. Looks like a problem with your WDAC components on the Win7 boxes. In Win7 WDAC is included in the OS install so maybe it's been corrupted somehow. Start an elevated cmd prompt and run "sfc /scannow" on a test box to see if that fixes the problem. Run "sfc /verifyonly" if you want to check for problems but not repair them.

Or search the web on Windows Data Access Component (WDAC) problems/repair in Windows 7.
