...even though the audit.config file has been set up correctly.

You might be having the same problem as I was.

I'm running openaudit on XAMPP on a XP box in an active directory domain.

After much struggling I suddenly realised that DCOM wasn't on so there was no way it was going to do remote audits.

Here's some quick instructions on how to turn it on:

 • Open Control Panel

 • Open Administrative Tools

 • Open Component Services

 • Expand Component Services

 • Expand Computers

 • Right Click My Computer and select Properties

 • Select the Default Properties tab and Ensure Enable Distribted COM on this Com,puter is Checked.

 • Apply, close all windows and reboot the PC

Bingo! auditing on domain PCs working.

PS in case it's of any help here's my audit.config for good measure (I've renamed the domain & computer for security reasons but you get the idea):
audit_location = "l"
verbose = "n"
online = "yesxml"
strComputer = ""
ie_visible = "n"
ie_auto_submit = "y"
ie_submit_verbose = "y"
ie_form_page = "http://mycomputer/openaudit/admin_pc_add_1.php"
non_ie_page = "http://mycomputer/openaudit/admin_pc_add_2.php"
input_file = ""
email_to = ""
email_from = ""
email_server = ""
audit_local_domain = "y"

number_of_audits = 20
script_name = "audit.vbs"
monitor_detect = "y"
printer_detect = "y"
software_audit = "y"
uuid_type = "mac"
