I was using Open-AudIT 1.8.4 and upgraded to 1.12. After the upgrade, my sys_man_additional_fields and sys_man_additional_fields_data tables are totally empty.

I had put a lot of time into populating thousands of data points into that table.

Is this expected that the upgrade nukes all that work?

Hi Nathan,

I've dug into this and unfortunately this looks related to refreshing the groups as part of the upgrade. The sys_man_additional_fields table is linked to the oa_group table by group_id. If the group your fields are assigned to is deleted, so are the fields - and consequently so is the data. My sincerest apologies. The only way to recover the data will be from a backup.

Obviously I will fix this ASAP and include it in our next release.

Again, my apologies.

Nathan,

Are you using the Windows or Linux version of Open-AudIT?

If you're using the Linux version, when you upgraded you should have been given the option to backup your database. If you did that, no data will be permanently lost.

As at this post, I have patched and uploaded Open-AudIT 1.12.4 so you can (if you have a database backup), restore your database and reinstall from a fresh download. This will result in no lost data.

Mark.
