I downloaded "OAv2_beta11_xampplite". I followed the instructions and ran the setup on Windows 7, and then I opened the xampp control panel and started apache and mysql.

When I click on "admin" for mysql, I get this error:

MySQL said:
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

The mysql password is supposed to be blank, isn't it?

Obviously this access denied isn't a show stopper because OAv2 seems to be working.

I am running into errors when attempting to add Windows 7 systems, looks like others have experienced a similar issue. I was able to do the bulk add and that works.

Also, I was able to audit a Red Hat system and paste the info from the text, and add it to OAv2

Other than "extract to the root of C Drive", there is no setup needed. Just extract it and run the control panel. Start Apache and MySQL and it should "just work".

Have you downloaded the seperate audit_windows.vbs script ? his has some fixes. I plan on beta 2 very shortly with all fixes included and a heap more besides. If you have used the new audit script, could you try using the script like
cscript audit_windows.vbs COMPUTERNAME submit_online=n create_file=y
then manually post it into OAv2 (Admin -> Systems -> Add a system). Does it produce an error? Could you post the error here?

I reset my VirtualBox server and started over. Downloaded the separate audit script, and your command works fine. Looks good. Thanks for the help!

I did notice that all of the partitions on the Red Hat system aren't listed, could be related to it being a VirtualBox vm. It only lists the boot partition /dev/sda (500mb) but doesn't list the larger volume /dev/sda2 (34GB)

I will try to find a physical Red Hat server to test on.

The Mysql root password is password. You can edit the config.inc.php file in xampplite\phpMyAdmin and set the password value to make the error go away. The xamplite version isn't set up with much security.

Thank you jpa, now I have access for phpmyadmin.

I really like how easy it is to install the xampplite version!

The linux audit script needs some serious attention.
I wouldn't bother much with it just yet... sorry.
