For troubleshooting, A good feature would be comparing systems. (hardware/software)
Or would these request out of the OA scope?

Now that sounds like a neat idea.

I presume you would be looking for missing software, different hardware on similar build machines.

This would take a little thought, but is essentially do-able. As it stands, however if you take the PDF reports from the two machines, and compare them side by side, (tile windows vertically :? ) this might be good enough for your purposes.

You're absolutly right, the new pdf button creates nice reports !

Hmmm....it would actually be pretty nice to be able to select a list of "required" software that you expected all your systems to have and view a report of systems that were out of compliance. I wrote a VB application a while ago that could query a local or remote machine (WMI) for software and their SP level, if applicable. It was just an easy way to check a machine without actually having to check everything manually.

Just thinking out loud here, so this thought is incomplete:

What would even be better is a reports-like interface where you can create a subset of applications or hardware specs/etc. make them into a "report". But instead of running the report, you would just select some computers, then run them against this report. Anything that doesn't fall into the criteria might be highlighted (and show the differences)...? Not sure how doable that would be, but it sure sounds cool...

:)

Happy New Year everyone!

Rob
