What is the proper way of scanning the network for network printers?

Can you not use the following -

cscript audit_windows.vbs printername

Ok Discovery

Scan a device using SNMP will work but how can I do this from a text file with all of our printers in the list?

The audit script is for a Windows PC, not a network printer. It should detect any installed printers however and make an entry in Open-AudIT. You won't have much detail though.

The best way is to use the Discovery feature. You can upload a schedule using Open-AudIT Enterprise and specify an ip address and credentials (SNMP) in there.
