attached is a modified version of the audit_domain script.
A couple of changes.
1. option to randomize the scan.
2. an option to only audit PCs that have not been seen in the last n days. Only coded for audit_run_type=local. To use this you will need to set up an ODBC connector on the PC running the script, called "oaV2" pointing to the oaV2 database.

Hello,

My name is Cédric, and I am new to Open AudIT, which I guessed would be very usefull to audit our LAN : 1 windows server 2003 and 7 windows XP and 2 windows 7 (I work for a non profit organization).

It has been for one week and a half, that I read posts in the forum and try different tests to install OA.

I have finally (oday) succeeded to install and made OAv2 to work fine except for printers.

Then I would like to thank you for developping such an application and would like to make a contribution to your project : I would propose myself to compile posts that I found usefull for users.

I would propose that documentation to follow the classic users' guide :

1) what is OAv2 and does it do?
2) installation guide (for windows).
3) configuration guide (for windows).
4) using OAv2 how to's?

I would be able to compile those posts either in english and in french (as I am a native).

What do you think?

You're more than welcome to contribute documentation - thank you.
When you have something, just start a new thread and we can give it the once over...

Enhanced audit_domain script, has the following improvements to the standard script.

1. option to randomize the scan.
2. an option to only audit PCs that have not been seen in the last n days. Only coded for audit_run_type=local. To use this you will need to set up an ODBC connector on the PC running the script, called "oaV2" pointing to the oaV2 database. You only need the ODBC connector if you enable this.
3. added code to detect and remove hung audit processes.
