From memory you need lshal installed.
HAL is used quite a bit by the Linux install.
I've started on the OAv2 Linux script - but have a long way to go. I am trying to remove the HAL dependency (seeing as HAL has been depreciated), although I don't seem to be able to obtain the same amount of info without it. Anyone know how to script DBUS like this (to retrieve details)?
