Hey guys, I am looking to run open-audit at work to manage all the information on our workstations. It looks like its going to work great.

I have it setup on my personal computer right now just running xampp in xp.

I don't know what it is or how I am missing this... but I can't figure out how to add computers or get this thing going. I do a ton of work in this area and I am no beginner with this sort of stuff, but I must be overlooking something big to add computers to the audit.

I am assuming I just go to "Admin -> Add a system" and put it in there. But I don't know what exactly I am supposed to put in. If I put in IP's or hostnames I get this

"
Verbose:
User:
Verbose: y
System:
UUID:
Timestamp:
Software Audit:

SELECT MAX(system_audits_timestamp) AS timestamp FROM system_audits WHERE system_audits_uuid = ''
INSERT INTO system_audits (system_audits_uuid, system_audits_timestamp, system_audits_username) VALUES ('','','')
INSERT INTO system (system_uuid, system_first_timestamp) VALUES ('','')
UPDATE system SET system_timestamp = '' WHERE system_uuid = ''
Close

We don't run a domain, just a workgroup. How do I scan for computers? I almost feel a little embarrassed asking this but I don't see any documentation on it.

Thanks for the help.

Don't be, I'm getting the same problem when I manually add computers from our domain, so you're not alone in this. :)
All is fine if I do a domain scan with the audit.vbs script, though.

The way it is meant to work is this..... :?

Run audit.vbs and audit to a text file.

Now open the text file in Notepad, Select All, Copy

Next open the Admin >Add System page, Paste in the result of the audit.

If this throws an error, let me know.
